Four Steps in the Interior Residential Painting Process

HomeBlogFour Steps in the Interior Residential Painting Process

In order to complete an interior residential painting project, there are four steps that we go through. These include planning, preparation, painting, and cleaning up.

Four Steps in the Interior Residential Painting Process

  1. Planning: The planning stage begins with a consultation. One of our interior residential painting experts will speak with you about your expectations and vision for the project. We will speak with you about choosing the correct paint for your home. This includes the type of paint that will apply best to the surfaces being painted. We can also explain how much paint is required to finish the project. We are properly equipped with the tools necessary to successfully complete the job, such as quality painting brushes, rollers, and ladders.
  2. Preparation: Preparation is the step taken before painting begins. To have paint maintain high quality for a long period of time, some situations, but not all, need priming. Different types of surfaces require various forms of preparation. For example, for a bare wood surface, it’s a good idea to first fill holes in with patching paste, sand the area and remove the dust with a cloth, prime all bare wood and patched areas, and finish with a preparation coat. Meanwhile, previously painted surfaces should be cleaned of all residues, have loose paint removed, and be lightly sanded to remove dust. This step also includes removing all items from the area so that the paint won’t get on your furniture or other belongings.
  3. Painting: Next, the painting process commences. Our team has the experience to successfully complete your interior residential painting project. We know how to use the proper tools to achieve the results you envisioned and shared with us during the consultation step.
  4. Cleanup: Once the painting is completed and dried, next comes the cleanup stage. This final step is when the room is put back in order and normal use of the space resumes. From here, you can enjoy your interior residential painting project successfully completed by us.
